A Gap Year Student can add support and energy to a music department. In return the student gains first-hand experience of how a department works, the administration involved, along with performance opportunities. It is an excellent opportunity for a student prior to university or a career in other areas of the music teaching world.

The MMA has sought to maintain a database of member schools who have Gap positions to offer for a number of years now. Many schools offer Gap positions working in many different areas of the Music Department. As the details for each will vary greatly, we recommend contacting each school directly to confirm the offer.
