The Directory is the UK’s only comprehensive guide to outstanding music departments in independent schools across the UK, now working in partnership with the Good Schools Guide.

High-quality print distribution

The Music Teachers’ Association Directory is printed to the highest quality, by our media partners, Media Shed.  Printed copies are distributed to all Independent Schools in the UK (including Wales and Scotland).  Multiple copies are sent to all standalone Prep Schools, to be shared with families.

Digital publication

The digital version of this publication is available publicly, allowing families, teachers, individuals, and organisations, to make well-informed decisions about next steps for their musical children.  It is shared specifically with all standalone Prep Schools, for inclusion in their e-newsletters.

Partnerships

For 2026, we are pleased to be working with the Good Schools Guide, enabling an even wider reach.  The Directory will also be distributed via ABRSM and Trinity College London examination centres.
